3.6 Saving your Abaqus/CAE GUI settings

If you modify your Abaqus/CAE GUI settings (for example, if you change the size of the main window), Abaqus/CAE stores the new settings and applies them to future sessions. The following GUI settings are stored:

When you exit Abaqus/CAE, your current GUI settings are stored in a binary file called abaqus_v6.9.gpr in your home directory. When you start a new session, Abaqus/CAE loads this file and applies the settings. You cannot edit the abaqus_v6.9.gpr file; however, you can delete it to restore the default GUI settings.

Warning:  Deleting the abaqus_v6.9.gpr file resets all of the GUI settings listed above. You cannot restore the settings from a deleted abaqus_v6.9.gpr file except by recreating them manually in Abaqus/CAE.

In addition, you can save your modified display options settings (for example, the render style; the visibility of the various types of datum geometry; and the display of mesh, element, and node labels.) You can save your customized display options settings in abaqus_v6.9.gpr in your home directory and apply them to all your Abaqus/CAE sessions. Alternatively, you can save these settings in a version of abaqus_v6.9.gpr in the current directory and apply them only to subsequent sessions that you start from that directory. For more information, see Saving your display options settings, Section 72.15.
